Story Telling UX/UI Content

AR and location-based mobile social experience. Use your mobile device to scan for like-minded users you can connect with. Perhaps for introverts - remove the awkwardness of walking up to a stranger at a place/event and connect first through the app. Maintain privacy for a bit longer, chat a bit through your avatars, then determine if you both want to connect in real life right there and then.

Project requirements:

  • Story Telling: Smooth and stylish with room for individual creativity.

  • UX/UI: Mobile AR and location-based interaction focused on human-to-human connection.

  • Content: Avatars and BG focused on individual style and expression.

Execution:

  • Story Telling: Our goal was to make modern museum exhibit-worthy visuals and have all of them be broadly approachable.

  • UX/UI: We were early with the Flat Design trend here in 2011 before Apple made it official in 2013. While keeping the bottom main nav bar and staying fairly standard within Apple’s general iOS UX guidelines, minimal graphic UI treatments and typography were emphasized vs. skeuomorphic treatments prevalent at the time.

  • Content: Avatar look and feel was pulled from our prior virtual social world work (EvilTwin Studios) and background visuals were driven by abstracts and modern photography.
